What can these hours count toward?

Texas LPCs currently complete 24 hours of continuing education during each renewal period, including required hours in ethics and competency with a distinct population. This course is designed to award hours that may be applied toward those categories.

This course: 20.0 hours

Professional ethics & responsibility

Texas requirement: 6 hours

This course: 3.0 hours

Distinct population competency

Texas requirement: 3 hours

This course: 3.0 hours designated for Children & Adolescents

Designed to address Texas's 3-hour distinct-population competency requirement.

  • 20.0 of the 24 total CE hours
  • 3.0 of the 6 required ethics hours
  • 3.0 hours designated for the 3-hour distinct-population requirement: children & adolescents

The 3.0 ethics hours and 3.0 distinct-population hours are already included within the 20.0-hour course total. Completing this course does not by itself complete every Texas LPC renewal requirement. Licensees are responsible for determining whether this continuing education activity meets the requirements applicable to their license and renewal period.

What else might I need for renewal?

Depending on your circumstances, requirements remain beyond what this course provides. For a standard Texas LPC, this course does not itself provide:

  • • The remaining CE hours needed to reach the full 24-hour renewal total.
  • • The remaining ethics hours needed to reach the 6-hour ethics requirement.
  • • The required Texas LPC jurisprudence examination.

Under current Texas rules, successful completion of the Texas LPC jurisprudence examination may be claimed as 1 hour of ethics continuing education. This course does not provide or satisfy the jurisprudence examination.

For LPC Supervisors: this course is not designated as supervision continuing education. Texas LPCs maintaining supervisor status have a separate 6-hour supervision CE requirement, which this course does not address.

What you'll learn

Professional learners work through the same 16-module curriculum families receive, plus a clinician-only layer built on top of it. This is not a parenting course repackaged with a certificate: each module carries a Professional Application that turns the material into assessment, formulation, caregiver consultation, and documentation work.

16 modules of core instruction

Screen time and the developing brain, social media, gaming, pornography exposure, predators and grooming, cyberbullying, AI companions, sextortion, identity, hard conversations, and more.

A Professional Application in every module

Applied clinical work, completed and saved as you go.

An 8-block ethics sequence

Professional-only, covering confidentiality, consent, reporting, escalation, scope, and documentation.

Module reviews, final assessment, attestation

A 30-question CE assessment and completion attestation before the certificate is issued.

Professional Applications included

One in each of the 16 modules — for example The Displacement Intake, Attention Differential, Social Media Risk Stratification, Functional Substitution Map.

3.0 hours of professional ethics & responsibility

The course includes a professional-only ethics sequence of 8 blocks, written for clinicians working with minors and their caregivers around digital-age concerns.
