Terms of Use

From Guardrails to Wisdom is an online course published by Elevate Counseling Group and taught by Andrew Simmons, LPC-S ("we," "us," or "our"). These Terms of Use govern your use of this website, the course, and the resources offered here.

1. Acceptance of these Terms

By creating an account, purchasing the course, or otherwise using this site, you agree to these Terms and to our Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, which are part of this agreement. If you do not agree, please do not create an account or purchase the course.

2. Eligibility

Accounts and purchases are intended for adults 18 years of age or older. The course discusses raising children and teenagers, but children should not create their own accounts or use the course platform directly.

3. Educational purpose — not therapy or other professional services

The course provides general educational information about parenting in a digital world. Using it does not create a therapist-client, counselor-client, supervisor-supervisee, physician-patient, attorney-client, or any other professional relationship with Andrew Simmons, Elevate Counseling Group, or anyone associated with them.

The course does not provide individualized:

• counseling or psychotherapy
• medical advice
• diagnosis or treatment
• legal advice
• emergency or crisis services
• child-safety assessment for a particular child or household

You remain responsible for deciding when individualized professional help is appropriate for your family. If you or your child are in crisis, contact a local provider or call or text 988.

4. Parent and guardian responsibility

Parents and guardians remain responsible for decisions involving their own children — including technology access, supervision, discipline, safety, healthcare, mental-health treatment, and how and whether to apply anything taught in the course. The strategies here are educational tools offered for your consideration, not guarantees or instructions tailored to a particular child.

5. Accounts and account security

• Accounts are for individual use.
• You are responsible for keeping your login credentials secure and for activity under your account.
• Please do not share your credentials.
• Unauthorized sharing of an account may result in suspension of access.

6. Purchases and payment

The course is sold as a one-time purchase. The price shown at checkout is the price that applies to your transaction. Payments are processed by Stripe; we do not receive or store your card details, and your payment is also subject to Stripe's own terms.

Refunds are governed by our Refund Policy (currently a 7-day window), which controls over anything on this page.

7. Course access

After a successful purchase, your account is enrolled and you can access the purchased course online, including its lessons, workbook pages, module reviews, and the resources published in the course library. Your progress and written responses are saved to your account so you can return to them.

We do not set an expiration date on purchased access, and we are not promising lifetime access. Access depends on our continuing to operate the platform. Availability may occasionally be interrupted by maintenance, technical problems, third-party outages, or necessary updates. If we ever need to retire the course, we will give purchasers reasonable notice by email.

8. Intellectual property and your personal license

All course content — lessons, videos, workbooks, module reviews, assessments, and downloadable resources — belongs to Elevate Counseling Group. Your purchase grants you a limited, personal, non-exclusive, non-transferable right to access and use the course for yourself and within your own family.

Unless a particular resource expressly says otherwise, you may not:

• reproduce substantial portions of the course
• redistribute course materials
• share your purchased access with others
• sell or resell any part of the course
• upload or republish course content elsewhere
• publicly display or perform the lessons
• record or download videos except where downloading is expressly offered
• create competing or commercial training products derived from the material
• remove copyright or proprietary notices

Naturally, you are free to use what you learn in raising your own children — that is the point of the course.

9. Professional use

Enrolling in the professional continuing-education track does not grant permission to reproduce the course, its worksheets, videos, or assessments for clients, supervisees, trainings, presentations, resale, or another course. Professionals are welcome to apply what they learn in their own practice, subject to their own ethical, legal, licensing, competence, and scope-of-practice obligations.

10. Continuing education

The professional track is designed to award continuing-education clock hours and issues a certificate of completion after the required coursework and final assessment are finished. The hour values stated in the course describe what the course is designed to award; they are not a claim of approval or accreditation by any licensing board or approving body.

• Completion does not guarantee that a particular board will accept the hours.
• Board requirements change, and each board applies its own rules.
• Licensees are responsible for determining whether this activity satisfies their own licensing and renewal requirements.
• Completion does not guarantee licensure, renewal, certification, professional competence, or any particular regulatory outcome.

11. Acceptable use

While using the platform, please do not:

• circumvent access controls or paywalls
• attempt unauthorized access to accounts, systems, or data
• scrape or automatically extract course content
• interfere with the operation of the platform
• distribute login credentials
• copy or redistribute protected content
• use the platform for any unlawful purpose

12. Third-party services and links

The platform relies on third-party services, including Stripe for payments and our hosting and database provider, and it may link to outside educational resources. Those services and sites operate under their own terms and privacy practices, and we do not control the content of external resources we reference.

13. No guaranteed results

The course shares research, clinical experience, and a biblical perspective, but every family and every child is different. Purchasing or completing the course does not guarantee any particular parenting outcome, change in a child's behavior, prevention of online harm, mental-health result, professional result, or licensing or renewal outcome.

14. Disclaimer of warranties

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, the course and platform are provided "as is" and "as available." We do not warrant that access will always be uninterrupted or error-free, or that the content will be suitable for every individual circumstance.

15. Limitation of liability

To the fullest extent permitted by applicable law, Elevate Counseling Group and Andrew Simmons will not be liable for indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages arising out of your use of the course or platform, and our total liability for any claim relating to the course will not exceed the amount you paid for it. Nothing in these Terms limits liability that cannot be limited under applicable law.

16. Suspension and termination

We may suspend or terminate access for material violations of these Terms, including account sharing, unauthorized redistribution, security abuse, fraudulent activity, or unlawful use. Access terminated for those reasons is not automatically refundable; refund requests are still evaluated under the Refund Policy. You may stop using the course at any time and may ask us to delete your account as described in the Privacy Policy.

17. Changes to the course

Course content and resources may be updated as research, technology, regulations, and educational materials change, and individual lessons or resources may be revised, added, or retired. We will not make changes that arbitrarily deprive purchasers of the core product they bought.

18. Changes to these Terms

We may update these Terms from time to time. The "last updated" date above always reflects the current version, and for material changes we will give reasonable notice — such as an email to enrolled purchasers or a notice on the site — before they take effect.

19. Governing law

These Terms are governed by the laws of the State of Texas, without regard to its conflict-of-laws rules, to the extent permitted by applicable law. Disputes relating to the course may be brought in the state or federal courts located in Texas.

20. General

If any provision of these Terms is found unenforceable, the rest remains in effect. Our failure to enforce a provision is not a waiver of it. We may assign these Terms in connection with a transfer of the business; you may not transfer your account or access to someone else. Together with the Privacy Policy and Refund Policy, these Terms are the entire agreement between you and us regarding the course.
